MechWarrior: Online - Shadow Cat SHC-PRIME (Any OmniVariant) Build

So I was supposed to be doing a weekly post; but sadly I forgot and have been dealing with life. Vacations are so much fun. So in an attempt to keep the posts up, here's a build for today.

The Shadow Cat, a much long awaited Clan Mech has recently been released several days ago. It is actually an extremely good Mech despite the low armour and limited tonnage that one gets to play around with.

I personally absolutely love the Shadow Cat. For someone who has now converted to a pure Light Mech pilot (lately it's all I'm good at piloting; I'm literally bad with most other Mech weights these days); the Shadow Cat feels very much like a heavy Light Skirmisher type Mech.

SHC-PRIME "Pseudo Sniper" (1x CUAC5, 1x CERPPC & ECM)

Smurfy MechLab: [Link]

Role: Sniper
Speed: 97.2 kph
Firepower: 20
Armour: 268

Weapon Groups
Primary Weapon Group: CERPPC
Secondary Weapon Group: CUAC5

There's a reasons why I use the SHC-A Left Arm OmniPoint. This is mostly for the quirk which reduces the heat of Energy weapons. The rest of the OmniPoints are obvious.

As with all Shadow Cats, you must always run one with ECM. Least I cannot find a reason why you would not take ECM outside of the SHC-P troll build (6 Machine Guns can be very fun at times). Otherwise run this like your standard sniper Mech.

Take advantage of those 6 Jump Jets and MASC to manoeuvre yourself into positions where most normally can't get to. And use those heights. But keep moving. Don't stay in one spot for too long.

If you do wind up getting into a brawl, you run surprisingly cool despite firing the ERPPC every chance you get. The combo of the CUAC5 and CERPPC will keep you relatively heat neutral. Hell if you wanted, you can fire the CUAC5 whilst sniping with the CERPPC. They fire pretty much in sync, and with the buff to CUACs, it's actually not too bad an idea. Just make sure you know for certain both shots will collide.
